Neverstreaming Reading Intervention - (Grades 4-6)
All students are placed in Reading Clubs based on the students' specific needs, determined after analysis of state and district test results, teacher input and individual student considerations. Teachers offer intense, strategic reading instruction to students with specific literacy needs. Fluency, phonics, decoding, vocabulary and comprehension are some of the areas of focus. An extensive Resource Library is maintained and teacher resources and materials are available.
Reading Intervention Class - (Grades 7-8)
Students who require intensive intervention in specific reading skills are assigned this class.
English Language Development Support
Depending on the needs of the student population, reading, writing, language arts, social studies or advanced language development is offered. Receiving specially designed lessons, second language learners have access to academic core curriculum while learning their new language. The Newcomer Program Director works closely with the ELD Support teacher to place students for services.
