Jefferson Elementary School
Russian River Partnership After-School Program

Jefferson School is excited to offer the Russian River Partnership After-School Program. This program is funded by a 21st Century Learning California Department of Education Grant and offers math and literacy instruction, homework tutoring and enrichment activities.

This program is held at Jefferson School from 2:20pm-5:20pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 1:05pm - 4:05pm on Wednesdays.

Typical program day begins with attendance and snack. Students are divided into groups of approximately 15 and participate in activities based on math and literacy instruction. Students also receive homework assistance. Students participate every day in an enrichment activity designed to expose them to the arts and humanities, as well as to science and project-based learning. A sense of fun and physical activity is integrated into every aspect of this after-school program.

Students come to the program through two ways: via teacher referral and/or through open enrollment. Once a child is enrolled in this program, he/she will remain a member for as long as he/she attends Jefferson School. Children must attend the program for the entire 3 hours everyday; this is critical, since we can only make positive changes through consistent attendance. This program is not designed to be a drop-in daycare program.
