Grading Policy
- I would prefer that you have a separate binder for this physical science class. Save your work so that you have it to refer to when you study for finals.
- Lab reports will make up about 35% of your grade. There are generally two labs per week.
- Homework is generally assigned 3-4 days per week. It is usually a reading assignment, problems to solve, a lab report to complete or a research project. Book homework problems make up about 15% of your grade.
- Group projects and class participation will make up about 15% of your grade.
- Tests and quizzes will make up about 35% of your grade.
- The final consists of two components: a lab and a scantron multiple choice.
Other Information
- Attendance is very important. Generally, labs are difficult to make up. Arrange a time within one week of your absence to make up tests and other missed work.
- Books should be brought to class to use as a reference during labs and other class activities.
- Your should have all of your materials ready at the bell, and you should be on time. It is important to follow lab procedures and use the equipment properly. You will have a signed safety quiz on file.
- Make sure that you ask for a tutorial pass if you need to make up work! Ask if you need to come in at lunch or break for help.
