Course Description
This course is designed to integrate student skills in the areas of presentation, web page, and video. Students will gain the necessary skills to create professional digital presentations while using PowerPoint and video editing software. With the use of video, graphics and sound, students will explore the marketing advantages of web pages and their uses in the real world. Students will be introduced to the use of color and graphics to create exciting, eye-catching multimedia productions.
Required Daily Materials
All students are expected to be punctual and present. The materials needed on a daily basis are pens, pencils and a notebook. An appropriate work ethic and attitude will make your class time more fun and assist you in obtaining your personal goals.
Grading
This is a project-based course. Grading will be based on work habits, attendance, work quality and class participation.

Make-Up Policy
Tests or assignments missed resulting from authorized excused absences must be made up within the same number of days of your absence. Attendance is crucial in a class that has limited outside assignments.
CHS Computer Guidelines
All rules of your CHS Computer Use Contract must be followed, thus we do not allow games, chatting, profanity or vulgarities, or other inappropriate use including websites on drugs, bombs or pornography.
Classroom Rules/Procedures
- Food and drinks are to remain outside the classroom.
- Students must be in the classroom by the time the tardy bell rings.
- Students are expected to be courteous, to be good listeners, and to be positive.
- Students are expected to respect the equipment, furniture, books and materials used in the classroom.
- Dress code - no hats or inappropriate attire (see schoolwide dress code).
FAILURE TO RESPPECT THE CLASSROOM RULES/PROCEDURES CAN RESULT IN ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
- First Offense: Student warning
- Second Offense: Student conference
- Third Offense: Parent contact with possible class suspension
Attendance and Tardy Policies
Tardy Policy - schoolwide tardy policy will be strictly enforced. After the third tardy your grade will be reduced by one-third (Example: A- to B+). Each successive tardy after that will further reduce your grade by one-third.
Truancy Policy - schoolwide truancy policy will be strictly enforced.
- Each cut will reduce the student's grade by one-third (Example: A- to B+).
- Excessive cuts will result in disciplinary referral, parent conferences, and possible removal from class.
- Excessive excused absences usually result in poor class performance and, therefore, necessitate parent contact and possible disciplinary referral.
- Absences due to the student's participation in other school activities or classes must be approved by the teacher prior to the absence in order to be excused.
Cheating
- First Offense - Failing grade on assignment, work, test, etc., for all parties involved
- Second Offense - Parent contact
- Third Offense - Failing grade for quarter
