STAR Testing
STAR Tests are May 7, 8, 9 and 14, 15 and 16. Thank you for not scheduling appointments for your 2nd - 4th grade children during school hours on testing days. It is very important to our program to have all the children in attendance on testing days.

2013-2014 School Year
It is my honor to announce that four of our teachers will be retiring in June: Mrs. Simoneau, Mrs. Gunnink, Mrs. Urbanick and Mrs. Jensen. If you were to add up all their years of experience, these women have guided children for over a century! Their talent and pleasantness will be missed by all as we wish them happiness in their new journeys.

Jefferson School is transitioning to a bright future. We are proceeding with hiring to replace these four excellent teachers as well as bringing in more teachers to address the District's desire to reduce class size. We will have many new staff members for the 2013-14 school year and it is my greatest pleasure to continue to be your principal. When our new team members are on board, the best position for each will be assigned.
It is our District's practice to not take requests to be in a particular teacher's room for the next year. At this point, I do not even know which teacher will be at every grade level. However, if there is any information that you feel would be helpful for me to know about your child's learning style or individual history, please provide a letter to me prior to the end of May. The teachers and I will be drafting class lists for the upcoming year during the month of June.
